Collection: Heriz / Serapi

A Serapi rug is a type of hand-knotted wool rug, known for its bold, geometric designs and durable construction, originating from the Heriz region of Northwest Asia, particularly around the town of Sarabi (also spelled Serab). They are a subset of the broader category of Heriz rugs, often considered among the finest examples from that area. Serapi rugs are among the most desired rugs by connoisseurs, collectors, and interior designers.

Heriz rugs are well-known for their bold geometric patterns and vibrant colors, often featuring shades of red, blue, and ivory. These rugs typically showcase a central medallion surrounded by intricate floral and geometric motifs, reflecting the town's rich cultural heritage.

Our rugs are all made with vegetable-dyed, handspun wool and entirely handwoven by master weavers in Iran. The pile or thickness is about 1/4" thick to give more of an antique feel and look.
